Samvedna Society organizes free eye check up camp

JAMMU, Sept 7: Samvedna Society Chairman Keshav Chopra along with District Social Welfare Office Jammu, in collaboration with Sood Eye Center, organised free eye check up camp for the students of Residential School for Blind, Roopnagar Jammu.
Team of experts, comprising of Dr Uzma Choudhary (MS) Eye Surgeon, examined the students. Free medicines were also provided and some students were referred to visit the Sood Eye Center wherein they will get free of cost treatment.
The camp was inaugurated by District Social Welfare officer Jammu, Mamta Rajput. She appreciated the work of Samvedna Society and said that philanthropy services by voluntary organisations play an important role by providing much needed aid to the common people. This camp would surely benefit the students of blind school who require ophthalmic consultations by expert doctors, she added.
Speaking on the occasion, Keshav Chopra said that Samvedna Society works mainly by conducting different health camps/ Eye camps targeting all sections and age group in order to address the problem of blindness holistically. “Our motive is to provide best healthcare facilities to the needy people at their doorstep and we will continue to conduct these eye camps in future also so that everyone can take benefit of it,” he added.
Mohd Shahbaz, Superintendent of the Blind School, Sanjay Vidrohi, Shahid Hussain Shah, Rakesh Bali, Brijesh Kumar, Satveer Kour, Rajesh, Manoj Tandon, Sushil Gupta, Vikas Kumar, Divyansh Gupta and others were also present during the camp.
