LFO-BHF, J&K Bank to address menstrual hygiene issues

JAMMU, Sept 8: Live for Others – Being Helpful Foundation (LFO-BHF), NGO and E-ANUDAAN signed an MoU with J&K Bank to address issues related to menstrual hygiene.
During the project, LFO-BHF will target all the 20 districts of J&K to spread awareness about menstruation and the required hygiene among students of various schools and colleges besides women of villages and far-flung areas.
Ashok Gupta, Deputy General Manager J&K Bank and Vivek Parihar, Director & CEO, LFO-BHF signed the MoU in the presence of Syed Rais Maqbool, General Manager, CSR, J&K Bank.
Besides challenging the taboos surrounding menstruation, the collaborative initiative – having J&K Bank as funding partner and LFO-BHF as the implementing agency – will raise awareness about the importance of sanitary pads. Aimed at betterment of society by educating women about menstrual health and hygiene, the CSR project will also witness free distribution of 5 lakh sanitary napkins across J&K.
Vivek Parihar, Director and CEO, LFO-BHF described his organization’s engagement with J&K Bank for this socially relative issue as an important milestone in eradicating women health and hygiene related taboos in J&K.
“While J&K Bank has been always at the forefront of such people-oriented initiatives, I am sure we would come up to the expectations of the Bank in particular and society at large by giving this project our best and implementing it with professional dedication and societal commitment,” he said.
