Wani asks Cong cadres to gear up for ULB polls

JAMMU, Sept 9: A meeting of PCC, including District Presidents, frontal heads, Corporators and Councilors of Jammu District was held to take stock of the preparations for the upcoming ULB and Panchayat elections besides discussing the burning issues of the people and the overall political and security scenario in the UT and the country.
The meeting was chaired by PCC President Vikar Rasool Wani and attended by Raman Bhalla (Working President), Th Balwan Singh, Indu Pawar (Ex-MLA) and others.
Mr Wani took stock of the preparations from the ULB’s Observing Committee members for Jammu Urban and asked party cadres to gear up for these elections. He sought input from Jammu district and blocks regarding the activities of the party.
Vikar Rasool Wani called upon the party functionaries to go to the masses and maintain close rapport with the people and seek suggestions regarding the issues of general public to be taken up in the party manifesto for the next elections. He asked the local leadership of districts, Blocks, Wards and observers to try to identify and short list the potential candidates for the ULB elections and said that the mandate will be given to the deserving /hardworking candidates. He asked the party cadres to highlight the various failures of the BJP Govt. among the masses.
Alleging that every section of the society was suffering due to wrong policies and wrong decisions of the Modi Government, Wani said: “The people of J&K are the worst sufferers. The Modi Govt has snatched the right of jobs and land from the people of J&K by downgrading a full-fledged state into Union Territory. The property tax, toll plazas, smart meters, unemployment have added more in the miseries of people of Jammu and Kashmir.”
Raman Bhalla, in his address, said that unemployment is increasing day by day. “Govt advertizes jobs, sell application forms by charging heavy fee and then cancels these jobs on reasons. In this process youth have become over aged and frustrated for their future. The people, especially youth will certainly ask the local leaders of BJP , what they have done for them,” he said.
