MENDHAR, Mar 28: Harni Friend Club thrashed Sudan Club in the finals and lifted the Inter Village Level Kabaddi Tournament organized by Police under Civic Action Programme here today.
On the concluding day today, Ranjeet Singh, SDM, Mendhar was the chief guest, who presented prizes among the winners and runner up teams of the tournament.
While addressing the participants, Ranjeet Singh exhorted the players for their effort and encouraged them to make the best use of such a platform to display their sporting talent.
He also laid emphasis on the importance of games and sports in the overall development of the youth. Singh added that sports play pivotal role for the overall development of the body viz mentally and physically.
During the tournament, teams from Mendhar, Jughal, Chhatral, Mankot, Lower Salwah, Harni, Ari Gultha participated and exhibited their talent.
Among others present were Tehsildar Mendhar Subash Dogra, Sub Divisional Police Officer Parbeet Singh Parhiar, Block Medial Officer Dr Mumtaz Bhatti, Block Development Officer, Deepak Dubey, Naib Tehsildar Shazad Khan, Tariaq Khan, citizens and sports lovers.
The tournament was organised under the guidance of DIG Rajouri-Poonch range Rajesh Kumar and under the supervision of SSP Poonch Ashkoor Ahmed Wani, Additional SP Youghal Manhas with the active co-operation of the youth of Poonch District.
