JAMMU, Sept 12: A two-year-old male child drowned in a water tank here at Sanjay Nagar area of the District, officials said.
Around 10 Pm on Monday, Manvik Choudhary son of Kulbir Choudhary of Sain, RS Pura, slipped into a water tank at his maternal grandparents’ home at Sanjay Nagar area.
“After a search operation was launched, the two-year-old child was recovered floating in the water tank. He was immediately taken to the Government Medical College Jammu, where doctors declared him as dead on arrival,” said officials.
While post-mortem of the deceased child has been conducted and body handed over to his family members inquest proceedings have also been initiated to further probe the matter.
