DDC Chairman Kathua pays tribute to martyrs, review development

BASOHLI, Sept 12: Meri Maati Mera Desh campaign was launched by the Central Government with an aim to pay tribute to the valiant individuals who sacrificed their lives for the nation.
This was stated by Col. Mahan Singh (Retd), DDC Chairman Kathua while leading a group of BJP Karyakartas during the door-to-door campaign in Plassi, Ghagrore, Jankher, and Plahi Panchayats of the Basohli Assembly Constituency. They collected “Maati” (soil) as part of the nationwide initiative “Meri Maati, Mera Desh”.
Several BJP leaders who participated in this campaign included Darshan Singh, district president; Rashpal Verma, OBC Rashtriya Morcha Secretary; Sushma Jamwal, BDC Chairperson; Yubkaran Singh; PC Sharma; Pinki Jasrotia and Karam Chand.
During their visit, party workers paid floral tributes to bravehearts Martyr Kuldeep Singh, Jait; Nial Gurung, Ghagrore; Navraj Gurung, Ghagrore; and Baldev Singh, Plahi, at their respective homes, alongside their family members.
Speaking on the occasion, Col Mahan Singh appreciated the initiative of Prime Minister Modi to collect soil from every household across the country for the upcoming Amrit Vatika at Kartavya Path, New Delhi, near the National War Memorial. He emphasized that the installation of a Memorial Shield at the village level would serve as an inspiration for youth and foster a sense of national pride among the younger generation.
