SRINAGAR, Sept 12: BJP, district Srinagar under the leadership of Ashok Bhat, district president, Srinagar held a protest rally at Noor Bagh area of city today.
The protest was organised against the atrocities committed by the police of Southern area of the city in conveyance with the administration upon the workers of BJP and simultaneously jailing them unwarrantedly, the party said in a statement later issued to media.
A large number of leaders, workers of BJP and civilians took part in the protest. They were raising anti administration and anti police slogans and demanded action against erring officers.
While, talking to media Ashok Bhat said, it is deplorable that the administration and police of the Union Territory is acting against nationalist forces for providing room to the forces who have for decades looted and ruined the region. He said this should act as an eye opener for higher ups of administration and they should rethink relying upon the parties whose leaders have changed different guards for their personal interests during their tenure in politics.
He further said that LG Manoj Sinha should take personal cognizance of the matter and advise the lower ranks that such acts are not repeated again so that nationalist forces are allowed to work freely for nation building.
