JAMMU, Sept 13: Sarv Shakti Sevak Sanstha that is associated with Mata Machail pilgrimage in Paddar area of Kishtwar district, today paid floral tribute to the former head priest at the Machail Mata Shrine Paddar, Des Raj, who breathed his last on September 1.
The head Pujari was associated with the Machail Yatra since its beginning and had thousands of followers in the region. He was greatly admired among his followers for his spirituality and simplicity.
The tribute were paid during a meeting, which was attended by the people from different shades of life. Besides paying rich tribute to the head priest, they recalled his selfless services and contribution for the promotion of the pilgrimage.
Vice President of Sarv Shakti Sevak Sanstha, Raj Kumar while sharing his views, said that Des Raj’s contribution for the welfare of mankind and in promoting spirituality would always be an inspiration for others.
Former Minister Sunil Sharma, while paying his tribute, said the death of Des Raj has left behind a great void in the society. “With his demise, we have lost a great saint of present times, who had been a guiding force for the millions,” Sharma said while conveying his deepest condolences to the bereaved family and followers of the head priest.
