JAMMU, Sept 13: Shiv Sena (UBT) J&K unit here today launched ‘Main Bhi Ek Sainik’ campaign by paying floral tribute to Sher-e-Duggar Pandit Prem Nath Dogra Ji.
Under the leadership of Shiv Sena J&K president, Manish Sahni, Shiv Sainiks went door-to-door and appealed the people to come together for restoration of their rights.
Sahni claimed that people of Jammu, who supported every decision of the Central Government including the abrogation of Article 370, have been betrayed.
He said that those who used to praise Jammu are now silent on discrimination and injustice with the region. “Our cultural identity is under attack, Jammu Doordarshan has been almost shut, commercial activities such as hotels are being facilitated in historic Mubarak Mandi complex and the historic Ranbir Canal is in a pitiful state,” the Shiv Sena leader claimed adding: “Economy of Jammu has been severely affected by the disruption of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrimage due to expansion of rail and road routes.”
He also said that tourism destinations in Jammu are suffering due to their deteriorating conditions and increasing number of liquor shops has increased addiction and crime and such activities are leading the youth towards destruction.
“Increasing unemployment, inflation, installation of smart meters and levying of Property Tax have further hit the public here,” he continued.
Shiv Sena Women Wing president, Meenakshi Chhibber; general secretary, Vikas Bakshi; chairman, Rakesh Gupta; vice president, Sanjeev Kohli and others were also present during the campaign.
