JAMMU, Sept 14: Virender Gupta, Sub Divisional Magistrate Chowki Choura, accompanied by Saraj-ul-Din, Tehsil Supply Officer, Chuni Lal, Sarpanch, Ghaar and a team of revenue held an extensive tour of Panchayat.
The officer visited Government High School, Ghaar and provided sports items among the top three students of 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th classes. During the tour Sub Divisional Magistrate found paucity of staff in the school and absence of head master who was on long leave.
Immediately, Zonal Education Officer, Chowki Choura was contacted, who assured that the Head Master shall resume his duties within a week’s time. The officer also checked the quality of food material used for Mid-day meals and expressed satisfaction.
Thereafter, the visiting team also visited the adjoining Primary Health Centre and found the pathetic condition of the newly constructed building. The SDM immediately sounded out the AEE, PWD and their executing agency to take remedial measures to protect the PHC from rainy-water.
The matter regarding long -absence of a Medical Officer (Ayush) was also taken up with the Block Medical Officer Chowki Choura, who assured that immediate remedial measures shall be taken so that patients may not suffer anymore.
While returning, the officer also visited the under construction Chowki Choura Tunnel and observed that the total length of the tunnel is 1789.25 meters out of which 799.25 meters were completed.
