Heroin worth Rs 28 lakh seized, 2 interstate smugglers arrested

SAMBA, Sept 15: Samba Police has achieved a major success by arresting two interstate heroin smugglers and recovering400 grams of heroin valuing Rs 28.00 lakh approximately in international market from their possession.
The arrests have been made under the overall supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police, Samba Benam Tosh,
The arrested interstate heroin smugglers have been identified as Sourab Deep Singh, son of Major Singh of village Sultan, tehsil Amritsar (Punjab) and Karan Singh, son of Baljeet Singh of Sultan tehsil Amritsar (Punjab). The heroin smugglers were smuggling heroin from Punjab to Samba district for further supplying.
A case FIR No.129/2023 U/S 8/21/22/27-A/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station, (PS) Vijaypur and investigation is underway.
The interstate heroin smugglers have been arrested by the District Anti-NDPS Team and Police Station team headed by SHO Police Station, Vijaypur Sandeep Charak under the supervision of SDPO Vijaypur Rohit Kumar and Additional SP, Samba Surinder Choudhary.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Samba, Benam Tosh said that total 70 hardcore narco-suppliers including 13 female narco-suppliers have been arrested in past eight months and several others have been booked under law.
He said all heroin hotspots and hide-outs of smugglers have been smashed by police and isolated attempts of smuggling and supplying are being dealt with sternly under law. Habitual heroin suppliers are being detained and lodged in Jail under stringent PITNDPS Act also.
