UDHAMPUR, Sept 15: District Police Udhampur today worked out a theft case by arresting a thief and recovering stolen items from his possession.
“Based on a complaint lodged at Police Station Udhampur by a man namely Saif Ali son of Mohd Anwar resident of Londana (Udhampur) that some unknown thieves have stolen some household items from his house, a case FIR Number 469/2023 U/S 457/380 IPC was registered at Police Station Udhampur and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team of Police Station Udhampur with the help of technical assistance and from the scrutiny of CCTV footage of nearby areas, nabbed one suspect namely Mohd Ameen son of Mohd Anwar resident of Jojdhra Talab (Udhampur).
On sustained questioning, the accused person confessed his involvement in the theft case. He was arrested and on his disclosure, stolen items including two Gas Cylinders, one Electric Motor and one Stablizer were recovered.
Further investigation was going on to ascertain the involvement of the accused in other theft cases.
