NEW DELHI, Dec 31: Amid profit-booking by speculators and a weak trend overseas, zinc futures prices today edged lower by 0.62 per cent to Rs 128.90 per kg.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in January shed 80 paise, or 0.62 per cent, to Rs 128.90 per kg, with a business turnover of 214 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in current month traded lower by 50 paise, or 0.38 per cent, to Rs 129.50 per kg, with a business turnover of 56 lots.
Marketmen said apart from profit-booking by participants in view of ending monthly settlement, weakness in base metals overseas, led to a fall in zinc prices at futures trade. (PTI)
