Samba police arrests 12 vagrants near Chitta hotspot

SAMBA, Sept 17: Samba Police has apprehended 12 vagrants who were found roaming near ‘Chitta’ hotspot under preventive sections of Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) in the jurisdiction of Police Stations (PS) of Bari Brahmana and Vijaypur.
The arrests were made during a special drive launched by Samba police on the directives of Senior Superintendent of Polcie , Benam Tosh,
Police said the vagrants were apprehended at odd hours when they clandestinely entered into infamous ‘Chitta’ hotspots of Sarore, Balole Khad and Rakh Barotian where patrolling has been intensified.
The apprehended vagrants have been identified as Mushtaq Ahmed son of Mohd Hussain of Talwara Kansipatta tehsil and district Reasi, Vishal Saini, son of Sham Lal of Chatha Satwari at present Gangyal district Jammu, Jashan Choudhary son of Mohd Ishaq of Channi Himmat, Stadium Morh district Jammu, Saleem Choudhary, son of Khurshid Ahmed of Channi Himmat district Jammu, Nanu Kumar, son of Babu Ram of Chatha tehsil and district Jammu, Ankush Sharma, son of Subash Chander Sharma of Dhyansar tehsil Bari Brahmana, district Samba, Sahil Saggar, son of Romesh Kumar Saggar of Nanak Nagar Jammu, Manpreet Singh son of Bupinder Singh of Jevan Nagar Jammu, Karan Singh son of Diwan Chand of Kanthan, tehsil Arnas district Reasi, Suraj son of Bupinder of Sohan Pur district Vishali (Bihar), A/P Bari Brahamana, Joney Kumar alias Joney, son of Janak Raj of Joian Nandpur, tehsil Arnia district Jammu and Surjeet Kumar alias Seetu, son of Buti Ram of Joian Nandpur tehsil Arnia district Jammu.
All the 12 vagrants were apprehended while wandering suspiciously near infamous ‘chitta’ hotspot of Sarore, Balole Khad Bari Brahmana and Rakh Barotian & thus, appropriate preventive legal action has been taken.
The arrests have been made by police team comprising of SHO Police Station, Bari Brahmana Sumit Sharma and SHO Police Station Vijaypur, Sandeep Charak under the supervision of SDPO Bari Brahmana, Rahul Nagar, SDPO Vijaypur Rohit Kumar and Additional SP Samba, Surinder Choudhary.
Senior Superintendent of Police Samba Benam Tosh has appealed to the parents, guardians, teachers and elders of the society to ask senior students and youth to avoid roaming near known ‘Chitta’ hotspots as police patrolling has been intensified around suspected hotspots of heroin in Samba district and vagrants are being apprehended.
