JAMMU, Sept 18: BJP VDG Cell district Jammu and District Samba under the leadership of Basant Raj Thakur, BJP VDG Cell State convener held a meeting at party Headquarters, Trikuta Nagar,here, today.
J&K BJP general secretary (Org.), Ashok Koul and former Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh, BJP All Cells in charge, Rakesh Mahajan addressed the meeting.
Library in charge, Kulbhushan Mohtra and BJP leader, Ramesh Katoch were also present in the meeting, in which hundreds of VDG members participated. The meeting complimented the Government for the release of the VDGs remuneration besides a threadbare discussion was held on the other issues.
Basant Raj Thakur, while speaking complimented party High Command as they resolved the long pending issue of remuneration of the VDG members. He also raised certain issues of VDG members and demanded that VDG members without salary be engaged with salary policy. VDG of Rajouri and Poonch should be engaged with the same policy. He also asked for the VDGs insurance policy, their CP Fund policy and the retirement benefits.
Senior party leaders listened all the issues regarding Village Defense Groups members and assured them that the BJP fully supports genuine demands put forth by every person and deputation. He said that party stands by their all justified demands and the senior party leadership would certainly raise their issues on the appropriate platforms.
