JAMMU, Sept 18: On the auspicious occasion of Gurjar Pratiharas Samrat Mihir Bhoj Jayanti, Gurjar Desh Charitable Trust (GDCT) celebrated International Gurjar Day here today.
The function was presided over by Shah Mohammad Chowdhary Advocate, in which trustees of Gurjar Desh Charitable Trust, heads of various Gurjar organizations and people belonging to Gujjar Community including Youths participated in the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman GDCT, lauded the role of First Gurjar Samrat Mihir Bohj and said that the Samrat Mihir Bhoj will be remembered by the generations of Gujjar to come for his contributions & consolidation of Territories of Gurjar Desha i.e. Saurashtra. This day was also observed as the unity day.
Chowdhary said that the Gujjars of the world, whether they are Hindus, Muslims, Christians or the Sikhs, they are one community and on this pious occasion they had decided to remain united over the community issues and they have also stressed upon the Gujjar Youths to go for modern education and the Gujjars shall always sacrifice for the protection and integrity of our great nation i.e. Bharat.
Other members of the trust including Ch. M.S. Chouhan (General Secretary), Master Hasham Ali (Patron), Mohd Hanief Chouhan (Patron), Shouket Javed, Dr. Saleem Mohammad IAS, Bashir Ahmed Noon, Adv. Aslam Khan, Er. Mohammad Taj Chowdhary, Mohammad Yusuf Khepar, Sajad Majeed Chechi, Tariq Abrar, Bashir Ahmed Noon, Rafiq Kohli, Bashir Ahmed Kohli President, J&K Gujjar Maha Sabha, Perwaiz Waffa were also present on the occasion.
