JAMMU, Sept 18: Contractor of Jammu Tawi Railway Station parking, Ravinder Manhas today alleged that the authorities concerned has failed to provide him possession of the parking place despite completion of all requisite formalities.
Addressing a press conference here today, Manhas said that he won the highest bid for the Railway parking in the month of August and after completion of all required formalities and after getting approval of the Station Master, he went on the parking spot to raised a barrier and construct a room for his employees but the members of Auto and Taxi Stand Union forcefully stopped him from doing so and even manhandled him.
He said even Divisional Commissioner has passed directions to the concerned authorities to provide him possession of the parking place but till date they have failed to provide him possession of the parking place. “On September 8 again, I went on the spot and tried to raise barrier and start charging parking fees but the mafia working there damaged all my belongings and stopped my employees from charging parking fees,” he alleged.
Manhas said the members of Auto and Taxi Stand Union (Railway Station) are continuously harassing them mentally by leveling a number of allegations such as back door entry in the bid, being a goon, etc and for that he has served them a defamation notice. “I am in this profession for last 14 years and there is not even a single case registered against me in any police station of J&K,” he said adding, all the allegations leveled against him are false.
He appealed the authorities concerned to provide him possession of the Railway Station parking so that he can start the work there without any further delay
