Children of lesser God

Sir,
This in reference to the photograph of four children enjoying their free time on a Sumo after the hard work Page 1 of the DE Dec 26.
It is an irony of fate that our society has discarded people and becoming children who work hard for themselves and their families with honesty. These children need to be helped with tools that keep them engaged in their work while keeping themselves healthy and neat after the work. They need to be educated by conscientious members of the society. They are doing that work, which even our Municipalities have failed to perform. They are children who are earning as well as doing service to the society by picking solid waste of polythene, plastic, tin and iron pieces from the garbage generated by our city culture of the modern times thus, helping us to recycle the waste into useful products. Unfortunately, such children are neither looked after by the pseudo developed society nor by the Government. I would have suggested the other title for the photograph-“Happy children, who are salt of the soil.”
These children need the help of people who would support them to serve the society in much better  manner. On the other hand, the need of the hour is to educate all school going children about managing the solid waste of their house hold, schools and surroundings to keep the environment clean and healthy. Helpful teachers need to take the lead in this direction.
Yours etc…..
