DGP sanctions welfare relief of over Rs 1.90 cr

JAMMU, Sept 19: The Director General of Police, Dilbag Singh, has sanctioned over Rs 1.90 crore as special welfare relief through various orders from the Police Headquarters.
A press statement said that a special welfare relief of Rs 22 lakh each has been approved for the dependents/legal heirs of the deceased police personnel, including Head Constable (HC) Ravinder Kumar, W/HC Neelam Devi, HC Karamat Ulla, Selection Grade Constable (SgCT) Salam-ud-din Bajad, SgCt Mohammad Yaseen, Constable Ishfaq Ahmad, and Followers Farooq Ahmad and Altaf Ahmad, all of whom tragically lost their lives while serving.
It further said that an immediate relief in the form of Rs one lakh has already been disbursed to the Next of Kin (NoK) of these police personnel by the Police Headquarters to assist with the last rites. This financial assistance has been provided from the Contributory Police Welfare Fund.
Additionally, the DGP has granted special relief of Rs 6 lakh each to the dependents/legal heirs of deceased SPOs Naresh Kumar, Rajinder Kumar, Javid Ahmad, and Kewal Singh, who passed away during their engagement with the department. This financial aid is sourced from the Contributory Welfare Fund of SPOs.
Furthermore, as a gesture of support, the DGP has allocated Rs one lakh as financial assistance for the Next of Kin of a martyred constable to cover the expenses associated with his daughter’s wedding.
