JAMMU, Sept 20: BJP OBC Morcha organised Blood donation camp at Government Medical College Jammu, graced by Kavinder Gupta (former Dy. CM), Sunil Prajapati (State president BJP OBC Morcha), Dr. Meena Sidhu (Professor & HoD) , Dr. Narinder Bhatial, MS GMCH Jammu, Puneet Mahajan (convenor BJP Medical Cell), Raj Kumar, Tarkhan (general secretary BJP OBC Morcha ), Shamsher Prajapati (State secretary, BJP OBC Morcha), Sanjay Mehra (State Executive Member OBC Morcha), Ashok Salgotra (district president Jammu BJP OBC Morcha) and other activists of Morcha.
Speaking on the occasion, Kavinder Gupta said that there is an urgent need to create awareness especially among youth on blood donation as this noble act can help those suffering from life-threatening conditions.
What could be more satisfying than saving lives, Kavinder Gupta said youth must realise that every blood donor is a hero and asked them to motivate their peers to become regular voluntary blood donors to ensure sufficient stocks of blood needed for routine and emergency treatment.
He said people could donate blood after every three months and pointed out that every drop of blood donated by a person could save a life. He also appreciated the efforts of BJP OBC Morcha workers for donating blood.
Sunil Prajapati said BJP organised Blood donation camp under Sewa Saptah.
He said every single donation is a precious lifesaving gift and repeat donation is the key to building a safe and sustainable blood supply.
He said slogan “Give blood, give plasma, share life, share often.” It focuses on patients requiring life-long transfusion support and underlines the role every single person can play, by giving the valuable gift of blood or plasma. It also highlights the importance of giving blood or plasma regularly to create a safe and sustainable supply of blood and blood products that can be always available, all over the world, so that all patients in need can receive timely treatment.
