LPEF holds meet, discusses demands

JAMMU, Sept 21: All J&K Low Paid Employees Federation (LPEF) helda virtual meeting today in which the members discussed the burning issues being confronted by the working class and expressed their concern over the problems being faced by them.
The speakers urged the Government to redress the grievances on priority basis.
The meeting said that DPCs of various departments like Jal Shakti Department and other engineering departments are pending for a long time due the negative attitude of some officers. This has been a cause of increasing resentment among employees. It demanded that action needs to be taken against such officers.
The meeting said employees who are working at ground are part of administration and officers need to realise this.
It demanded scrapping of New Pension Scheme (NPS) and restoration of Old pension Scheme (OPS) in favour of employees who have been recruited after 1-1-2010.
Medical Allowance be enhanced from Rs 300 to Rs 1000,
And Daily wagers & contractual employees be regularised in all departments.
Among others who attended the meeting are Mohammad Javid Shah general secretary LPEF, Ab Rashid Bhat district president Anantnag, Ghulam Mohammad Dar, vice president Anantnag, Showkat Ahmad Das office secretary LPEF, Gulam Hassan Batoo and Mohammad Dawood Bhat joint secretary.
