Srinagar Sept 21 SKUAST-Kashmir today began a 3-day animal disease diagnosis training programme, sponsored by the National Agricultural Higher Education Project (NAHEP), at the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences in Shuhama in Srinagar.
According to SKAUST’s statement, several science students representing various colleges and universities in the Kashmir division, including the Central University of Kashmir, Kashmir University, RRIUM Kashmir University, and S.P. College, as well as students from different subject matter faculties within SKUAST-Kashmir, actively participated in the event.
“During the inaugural session, Prof. Mohammad Tufail Banday, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Sciences, who also served as the chief guest, emphasised the significance of conducting skill-based diagnostic hands-on training programmes like this.
Prof. Shoaib Ahmad Kamil, the Head of the Division of Veterinary Pathology, provided an overview of the division’s activities and its short- and long-term goals, aligning them with the university’s vision for the transfer of technologies from the laboratory to practical applications in the field.
During the technical sessions, various experts from reputed universities across the country delivered lectures on diverse topics. Dr Rajinder Singh from the Indian Veterinary Research Institute presented a lecture on “Diagnosis of Diseases Based on Anatomical Pathology,” which was a highlight of the first day of the programme.
