Police arrests man for stabbing

SRINAGAR, Sept 22: In a swift response to a stabbing incident, the Ganderbal Police today apprehended the accused involved in the attack. The incident, which left one person injured, unfolded amidst a heated dispute over a love triangle.
According to the officials, the altercation between the two individuals escalated rapidly, culminating in a violent attack with a sharp object.
As per the police, the scuffle erupted at Qamariya Park in Ganderbal, at around 3:30 pm during which one of the individuals involved, identified as Mohd Irfan, son of Ab Hamid Sheikh and a resident of Saloora Ganderbal, sustained injuries on his back after being attacked with a thread cutter.
“Promptly after the incident, the injured was rushed to District Hospital Ganderbal for immediate medical attention,” stated the police, while informing that his condition is now stable.
Upon arriving at the scene, a police team led by SHO Ganderbal Inspector Manzoor Ahmad initiated a preliminary investigation.
As per police, it was revealed that the victim had been assaulted with a sharp object wielded by Abrar Ahmad Parray, son of Mohd Ismail Parray, from Rangil Nagbal. The assailant fled the scene shortly after the attack.
“In response to this incident, a case with FIR No 271/2023, Under Sections 352, 323, and 341 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), was registered at Ganderbal Police Station. Pursuant to the directives of SSP Ganderbal Nikhil Borkar, a Special Police team, under the supervision of Dy.SP Hqrs Ganderbal, was formed and dispatched to locate and apprehend the accused,” police authorities disclosed.
After intense efforts, the police reported that the accused was apprehended at Nagbal Chowk near the Petrol Pump, noting that during the subsequent investigations, it emerged that the altercation between the victim and the accused had originated from a romantic relationship dispute involving a young woman.
