SPMR College of Commerce organises lecture on ‘Stress Management’

JAMMU, Sept 22: Department of Commerce, Government SPMR College of Commerce, Jammu organised a lecture on the topic ‘Stress Management’ in collaboration with ICFAI business school (IBS) for B.Com students under the aegis of G20.
Principal of the College Dr. Surinder Kumar was the chief guest on the occasion whereas Arun Verma, Branch Manager ICFAI business school, was the resource person for the lecture. Dr. Sarabjeet Kour delivered a formal welcome address and briefly introduced the topic to the students. Prof Barbara Kaul, HoD Commerce highlighted that if stress is left unaddressed it can lead to depression and anxiety in students which can impact their performance. She also motivated the students to take maximum benefit from the session.
Arun Verma, resource person of the event, had an interactive session with the students wherein he discussed in detail the concept of stress and its management. He emphasized on the significance of time management for managing stress. He further added that time management strategies such as clarifying priorities, setting goals, evaluating how time is spent, developing an action plan, etc. can help a student to cope up with stress. He also highlighted that the students mostly face career related stress. More than 50 students participated in the event with full vigour and enthusiasm.
Prof. Ashu, Dr. Shipra, Dr. Jagmeet, Prof Shreya, Dr. Fayza, Dr. Roomi, Prof. Sindhu and Prof. Kusha attended the programme. The whole event was organised under the guidance of Prof Barbara Kaul.
