GDC Samba organizes seminar on ‘Non-Violence’

SAMBA, Sept 22: In a concerted effort to promote the ideal of non-violence among the youth of India, Department of Sociology and Department of History of PPND Govt Degree College Samba came together to organise a seminar on ‘Non-Violence as Weapon in Freedom Struggle of India’ to commemorate the utmost relevance of Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of non-violence in various facets of human life.
A large number of students participated in the event and shared their views on the topic.
In her address, Prof. (Dr.) Twinkle Suri, Principal of the College motivated the students to have strong commitment towards Mahatma Gandhi’s core principles like truth, non-violence, Sarvodaya and Satyagraha.
She talked on the significance of these pillars of Gandhian philosophy in both students’ life and society at large.
This event was organised by Prof. Shivali Gupta, Head Department of Sociology; Dr. Purvaiya Hans, Head Department of History and Shanu Pandita, Department of Sociology.
