BARAMULLA, Sept 23: Police today arrested four drug peddlers in Baramulla and recovered charas from their possession.
A police party from Police Station Kunzer, led by SHO under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg, intercepted three individuals at checkpoints established at Lolpora and Chanpora Kunzer Bridge.
The police have identified the three individuals as Imtiyaz Ahmad Sheikh, son of Gh Mohammad, resident of Dara Kunjan Boniyar; Danish Ahmad Dhobi, son of Gh Mohammad, resident of Ugmuna; and Sahil Ahmad Reshi, son of Abdul Samad, resident of Chanpora.
“During the search, 225 grams of charas was recovered from their possession,” the police said.
Similarly, a police party from Police Station Uri, led by SHO and under the supervision of SDPO Uri, intercepted one person at a checkpoint established at Jabla Bridge.
The individual, as per police, has been identified as Zubair Ahmad Badan, son of Mohammad Nazir, resident of Dachi in Uri, according to the police. “During the search, 38 grams of charas was recovered from his possession,” the police reported.
All the accused have been arrested and shifted to their respective police stations, where they remain in custody, police said.
