UDHAMPUR, Sept 24: Councillor of ward number one, Preeti Khajuria today dedicated newly constructed street to the people worth Rs 1.85 lakh in Subhash Nagar.
The newly constructed street was inaugurated by Srimati Sudershan Gupta, an elderly lady of that locality.
Speaking on the occasion, Preeti Khajuria said that people were living in this area for 20 years but this lane was broken. She said last time all the streets in that area were paved but due to lack of funds this street could not be built.
She said this time, the councilor first got the ‘kaccha’ drain adjacent to this street paved at a cost of about Rs 4 lakh and then got the street paved so that the people of that area could get relief.
The councillor said that she tries to get all the work done on time, for which she keeps trying every day but if the Government does not provide sufficient funds to the big wards as per the population and area, then the pace of development slows down and the works are not completed in time.
A large number of people from that area were present along with the councilor on the occasion.
