Rfn Amit Kumar’s father writes to CoAS, seeks probe into his son’s mysterious death

JAMMU, Sept 24: Rifleman Amit Kumar’s parents have written a letter to the Chief of the Army Staff (CoAS), General Manoj Pande, seeking a clarification from the latter over the circumstances leading to the death of their son.
In his letter addressed to CoAS, Rattan Singh, the father of deceased Amit Kumar has stated that his son was posted in 17 JAK LI and was recently attached with 33 Corps as a Sahayak of a senior Army officer.
He further mentioned in the letter that his son was repeatedly harassed at the house of the army officer and on one fateful day when he refused to do some personal work of the officer, he was recalled back to his parent unit on September 14, 2023.
“On his way back, he was found dead in a lodge,” writes Rattan Singh, the father of the deceased soldier, while raising doubts over the mysterious death over his son.
In order to unhide the mystery over the death of his son, he has accordingly written a letter to CoAS, with a copy to Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, MoS Defence, DGMI and other concerned officials, seeking a probe into the mysterious death of his son by CBI.
