JAMMU, Sept 27: A woman was injured after she was attacked by a bear in Mandi area of district Poonch today.
Official sources said that 36-year-old Rafiqa Begum, wife of Javed Iqbal, resident of Gagrian village, had gone to her fields near her house to fetch some vegetables. She was suddenly attacked by a bear who was hiding in the maize field. She cried for help and was rescued by the family members and neighbours.
With multiple injuries she was removed to PHC Sawjian and then referred to Mandi hospital. The victim was later shifted to District Hospital, Poonch.
