DPAP Migrant Wing for rehabilitation of Pandits

Release of flour quota demanded

JAMMU, Sept 27: Kashmiri Displaced Wing of Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) has appealed the Government to devise a permanent rehabilitation policy of Kashmiri displaced people in consultation with community representatives.
The joint statement was issued by president DPAP Migrant Wing, Sanjay Dhar, its chairman Piaray Lal Pandita, Gawhar Wani, spokesperson, general secretary, Raj Kumar Ticku, Naveen Gosani president, Youth Wing, Daizy Dhar, Mahila president, Ravinder Singh secretary, Charanjit Singh, publicity secretary and others.
They demanded that such a long exiled period of 33 years is beyond the tolerances and Government of India should take cognisance of the sufferings faced by people in exile.
They appealed the Government to merge the PM package employees with U.T. Government employees who are already rendering their services to the Valley people which will become a first step towards resettlement policy, as was the objective behind introducing the special PM Package during 2008.
They also demanded enhancement of cash relief as on meagre cash assistance provided by Government, the migrants are unable to make their both ends meet.
They also demanded that special fast track based schemes for employment of qualified displaced, overaged youth, announcement of a special recruitment drive in police with relaxation of norms be announced for displaced people.
They demanded regularisation of old Quarters accommodation in Purkhoo Camp Phase III, immediate renovation, repairs of flats in Jagti and Nagrota camps
They further demanded release flour to the migrant relief holders stopped since last five months without any reason.
Meanwhile Sunil Pandita and Vijay Koul the social activists have also urged the Government to release the quota of flour to migrants immediately and expressed concern over distribution of sub standard rice at various ration ghats to the displaced people.
