Eid Milad-un-Nabi celebrated with religious fervor, gaiety

JAMMU, Sept 28: The Eid Milad-un -Nabi the birthday of Prophet Mohammed was celebrated with religious fervor and gaiety across Jammu today.
Holding of religious get togethers and taking out of processions by Members of Muslim community marked the celebrations.

The religious processions were taken out in Bhatindi, Janipur, Sunjwan and other parts of Jammu city by the members of Muslim community. The processionists with Islamic banners in their hands were raising religious slogans enroute.
A procession was taken out from Chowadi to Sunjwan in which large number of members of Muslim community including sizable number of youth participated. Another procession was taken out in Janipur area of the city.
A religious conference was held at by Anjuman Islahul Muslimeen at Macca Masjid, Bhatindi in which religious scholars threw light on the significance of the day.
Another function was held by Anjuman Imamiya, Peer Mitha in which Moulana Ali Asgar Haidri gave religious discourses. He threw light on the significance of the day and life and teachings of Prophet Mohammed who he said lived a simple life and worked for peace and prosperity of mankind.
He said Prophet Mohammed was a messenger of God on this universe who reformed the lives of people through the message of God i. e holy Quran. He urged the people to act on the teachings of Quran and always stand with oppressed and not with oppressor.
People had erected welcome gates and banners on road sides at various places to greet the processionists on the occasion.
