JAMMU, Sept 29: Dr Ranjit Singh, senior joint replacement surgeon, has added another feather to his cap by performing successful total knee replacement of a 75-year-old patient weighing 130 kg.
Ajit Singh hailing from Jammu had been suffering from joint pains and had difficulty in walking. He consulted Dr Ranjit, who convinced him for knee replacement surgery.
The surgery was performed at Nayyar Hospital in Amritsar with the doctor’s innovative “Zero Error Technique”. The patient was made to walk within few hours of surgery and resumed his daily chores within 2-3 days.
Explaining the advantages of ‘Zero Error Technique’, Dr Ranjit Singh said, “Miraculous results are possible with this revolutionary technique which involves minimal cut and nearly no blood loss. The patient not only shows a quick recovery, chances of infection also become minimal.”
“Recovering from knee replacement begins almost as soon as you wake up from surgery. A physical therapist will help the patient stand up that same day. The patient will likely be discharged from the hospital within two to three days after surgery,” he added.
Dr Ranjit Singh explained that the ‘Zero Error Technique’ takes minimum time of around 20 minutes from start to finish and with the short surgical time as well as minimum muscle damage, the surgical results are remarkable and quick.
He said the surgery is not only cost effective but is also a better option over Robotic and Computer assisted surgeries or traditional methods of knee replacement. Zero error technique has record 100% success rate and is totally safe, asserted Dr Ranjit, who is providing consultation in Jammu every first and third Sunday with prior appointments.
