Gurmeet Randhawa puts completed works worth Rs. 44 lakh to public use

JAMMU, Sept 29: Senior BJP leader and Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Councillor of Ward number 69, Gurmeet Kour Randhawa here today put the completed developmental works worth Rs. 44 lakh to public use in Sainik Colony.
These works included construction of drains, deep drain and culverts in Shopping Complex of Sectors A, B and G of Sainik Colony.
Speaking on the occasion, Randhawa said that by reserving 33 per cent of seats in Parliament and State Assemblies for women by passing Women Reservation Bill, PM Modi has took a big stride to empower women which constitute nearly half the population of the country.
“This is a landmark development in the history of India which will go a long way in meeting aspirations of the women and ending gender discrimination,” she maintained counting a large number of schemes introduced by PM Modi for the welfare of Indian public.
The JMC Councillor said that she will continue working for the welfare of Sainik Colony people.
A prominent local of the Ward, Captain Suresh Kumar Bhatti said, “With the completion of deep drains and culverts along the entire length of road of Shopping Complex, the problem of water-logging has been resolved. The work of tube wells worth Rs. 70 lakh in Ward number 69 of Sainik Colony is nearing completion to resolve the problem of water shortage in Sectors A, B and C.”
Other locals claimed that the Community Hall constructed in Shiv Mandir Sector G, Sainik Colony is presently used to run Yoga classes in addition to other community activities.
Prominent among those present on the occasion were Yashpal, Charanjit Charak, Amrik Singh, Bablu, Rakesh Choudhary, Ashok Sambyal, Kalyan Singh, Ajay Singh, Sukhi, Satpal Choudhary, Komal, Pooja, Babli and others.
