JAMMU, Oct 2: Kanta Devi, wife of former Minister and senior Congress leader Mula Ram passed away last night.
Family sources said that Kanta Devi complained of chest pain at around 11.30 pm last night. She was provided normal medicine and then was rushed to Govt Medical College Hospital, Jammu where she was declared as dead `apparently’ due to severe heart attack by the doctors.
The cremation took place this afternoon at Shakti Nagar cremation ground in Jammu. A large number of people from all walks of life attended the funeral procession which started from their residence at Patta Bohri.
Meanwhile, the J&K Pradesh Congress Committee has deeply condoled the sad demise of Kanta Devi, wife of former minister and senior party leader Mula Ram Bhagat.
JKPCC president Vikar Rasool Wani and all senior leaders of the party have condoled the sad demise of Kanta Devi and conveyed their condolences to Mula Ram and other family members. PCC chief conveyed heartfelt condolences on behalf of the rank and file of the party.
