JAMMU, Oct 2: Senior Citizen Services Supports Club Chowadi today celebrated Elder’s day in collaboration with Nami Dogri Sanstha Jammu. On this occasion, a Kavi Goshthi was also organised to promote Dogri in the premises of the club.
Chairman of the club Dr Kasturi Lal former principal of GMC Jammu welcomed the participants and audience.
He informed the members that a deputation comprises of Ashok Gupta President of the club former Drug controller J&K, Maj.Gen. S.K.Sharma (Retd.)Gen.Secry, Kalaish Langar Patron, Raman Gandotra submitted the memorandum to LG of J&K(UT) to make Dogri a compulsory subject in schools and LG assured that Dogri being the official language of the UT, will be introduced as a compulsory subject in classes from 1st to 5th as early as possible.
Ashok Gupta President of the club dwelled the objectives and initiatives of the club for the promotion of Dogri language as it is our mother tongue and spoke about the Gandhi jayanti, Lal Bhadur Shatri ji birth day which is being celebrated every year on 2nd October.
Yashpal yash Gen. Secretary of Nami Dogri Sanstha Jammu conducted the proceedings of the programme.
Among others who were also present during the function included Capt Lalit Sharma, Dr susheel Bhola, Madan Magotra, Dogra Harish Kaila (President), Arun Banathia, Dr. S.K.Jain, Inderjeet kesar , Nirmal Vinodh, Anadhika Bhola, Anupma Sharma, N.D.Sharma, Smt. Seema Anil segal, Anil Segal, Rajeev Gupta and besides them the members of the club along with other dignitaries who attended the programme .
