SRINAGAR, Oct 2: With an aim to spread awareness about the menace of drug abuse in the valley, a drug awareness rally was today organized by Kadal Foundation at historical clock tower, Lal Chowk in Srinagar.
The rally led by Rashtriya Lok Jan Shakti Party National General Secretary Sanjay Saraf also conducted an anti-drugs drive in the area.
Addressing the rally, Sanjay said that the people should know about the implications of drugs that are resulting in destruction among the young generation. He urged the people to keep their children away from this poison.
Saraf also appealed to Islamic scholars and leaders of other religions, intellectuals to play their role in eradicating drugs and keeping the young generation away from it. Saraf said that there is a need to crack down on drug dealers in every part of Jammu and Kashmir to destroy their network.
He said that this matter needs to be understood and dealt with above politics, religion, sect and race so that this poison can be eradicated from the land of Sufis and Saints.
