DODA, Oct 2: Police today arrested an eatery owner for selling illicit liquor.
Based on specific information regarding sale of illicit liquor by one Anil Kumar, son of Mani Ram, resident of Paga Reasi, presently running an eatery (Dhaba) at Kanderi, Assar in Doda district, the cops from Police Station Assar raided the eatery and recovered huge quantity of illicit liquor (Desi Whisky) from there.
In this connection a case in FIR number 16/2023 Under Section 48(A) Excise Act has been registered at Police Station Assar and investigation started.
It is pertinent to mention here that Doda Police has launched special drive to control the activities of drug peddlers, bootleggers and other criminal elements and this year 18 FIRs have been registered under Excise Act in the District.
