Jammu symbol of communal harmony: Yudhvir Sethi

JAMMU, Oct 3: Describing Jammu as a symbol of communal harmony and secularism, Yudhvir Sethi, J&K BJP vice president today said all efforts must be made to strengthen the secular fabric of the region, which is pluralistic in nature.
The senior BJP leader was speaking after attending the annual Qawali programme organised by Khursheed Ahmad Sheikh Kadri at Bawe Wali Gali Chowk Residency Road here, today. During the programme, Hassan Kabir and party presented various Qawalis. Sanju Mahaj, Rajesh Jandial, Mazid Khan, Madan Gopal, Tony, Vijay Mohan, Subash Sagoora, Dinesh Sharma, Vinod Gupta and Rahul Gupta were present.
Sethi said a strong and secular Jammu will lead to a strong J&K thereby a strong nation. He said the land of warriors has all along played a crucial role as a unifier and shown political will in maintaining high traditions of amity and brotherhood, even during most testing times.
He said that it is a result of this attitude that Jammu is well known across the nation for maintaining communal harmony and brotherhood amidst diversities in religion and faiths. He added that in the current times when the anti national and anti-social elements are hell bent upon disturbing the communal fabric, it is essential for the people of Jammu not to be led away by the provocative statements of such elements and maintain communal harmony at all costs.
The senior BJP leader exuded confidence that the people at large will appreciate the importance of coming together for harmonious growth of the region. He appealed to all to uphold the traditional values of brotherhood and coexistence and together identify, isolate and defeat elements who are bent upon disturbing peace and harmony in Jammu.
