Safety & security under BJP rule is a myth: Sawhney

JAMMU, Oct 3: Former Minister Yogesh Sawhney today lashed out at the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) for their “gunda raj” after BJP members allegedly attacked president of Ward Number 3, Sahil Dogra on late last evening, leaving him seriously injured.
In a statement, Yogesh Sawhney alleged that Sahil Dogra, a prominent local Congress leader and the Ward president, was reportedly targeted by members of the party on the evening of October 2, causing him severe injuries. He said after the attack, Sahil Dogra was rushed to Sarwal Hospital for medical assistance.
Yogesh Sawhney expressed his deep concern over the incident. He said, “This incident is a glaring example of the deteriorating law and order situation in the region under the BJP’s rule. It is unacceptable that a local leader, who has been serving his community diligently, has been subjected to such violence.”
Sawhney further called for a thorough investigation into the attack, urging the authorities to identify and bring the perpetrators to justice. He added, “The people of Jammu & Kashmir deserve a safe and peaceful environment, and such incidents only erode their trust in the administration.”
Local residents are shocked and concerned about the incident and they are demanding a swift and impartial inquiry to uncover the truth behind the attack and hold those responsible accountable, said Sawhney.
The former Minister further added that it is very disturbing that some unknown persons could enter the locality and beat a person openly. “BJP’s ‘gunda raj’ promotes this culture as it comes from arrogance in the popularity BJP members think the party holds. Such incidents cannot be tolerated and we urge the police to take the strictest action against the guilty so that such incidents can be nipped in the bud,” he said.
