NEW DELHI, Jan 7: Cardamom prices moved up by 1.10 per cent to Rs 709.90 per kg in futures trade today as speculators enlarged their positions, supported by rising demand in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in January moved up by Rs 7.70, or 1.10 per cent, to Rs 709.90 per kg in a business turnover of 18 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in February gained Rs 4.10, or 0.57 per cent, to Rs 725.60 per kg in 71 lots.
Analysts said speculators enlarged their positions, supported by rising demand in the spot market against tight supplies from producing regions that led to rise in cardamom prices at futures trade. (AGENCIES)
