JAMMU, Oct 5: A 21-year-old youth died here at Bus Stand area after he was hit by an SUV late on Wednesday night, police said.
Imtayaz Hussain son of Ghulam Hussain of Doda was hit by a Mahindra XUV 700 on Flyover opposite Jammu Bus Stand around 10 Pm on Wednesday night, resulting in injuries to the youth, they said.
“He was rushed to the Government Medical College Jammu by the people present at the accident spot for treatment but the youth succumbed to his injuries around 12 Am,” said police.
The body of the deceased has been shifted to the mortuary of the hospital for conducting the post-mortem while a case under relevant sections of the law has been registered at Bus Stand Police Station and efforts are underway to arrest the driver of the SUV, who is still at large.
