JAMMU, Oct 5: The students of Government Gandhi Memorial (GGM) Science College were made aware about damages caused by the corruption to the nation.
The ongoing ‘Jan Jagran Abhiyan’— the unprecedented anti-corruption campaign launched by the Mayor of Jammu city, Rajinder Sharma with revolutionary slogan ‘Imandar Jammu, Shandar Jammu’,is gaining momentum. The Mayor while addressing students said that PM Modi in his address to the nation from the ramparts of Red Fort had said that corruption and dynasts are not less than termite eating the very basics of our nation and these needs to be curbed at any cost.
“To fulfil the dream of PM Modi for honest India, movement has been started across the country and the public is now forced to think that if they want proper welfare services and facilities then corruption free society is essential as there is no other option.
“This thought process is very good for the society,” Sharma said, adding that especially the younger generation participating in the ‘Jan Jagaran Abhiyan’ is very good sign for the society.
He said “The public of our country has now decided that for the prompt and honest delivery of services there is a dire need of upright elected representatives.”
He said that the direct transfer of money during COVID-19 pandemic was a revolutionary step by the Government led by PM Modi.
“Earlier for getting a Rs. 2 cheque for compensation to crop loss one used to visit offices of the concerned authorities repeatedly,” he said, adding “Now the direct transfer of money to the accounts of beneficiaries has revolutionized the system’’.
The Mayor further said that though there is no magic wand to eradicate corruption but honesty displayed while casting votes preferring honest, upright and educated candidate having command over administrative activities can do it.
He further said that the ongoing anti-corruption campaign shall continue till the entire public of Jammu becomes aware about the menace of corruption.
The Mayor also said that all the people of the country should be determined to support PM Modi in eradicating corruption so that the India again becomes Vishav Guru and its pristine glory is restored.
