REASI, Jan 7: Remote Malikote village in tehsil Mahore of Reasi district, is still without electricity despite the fact that area claimed to have been covered under RGGVY by the concerned PDD authorities.
The villagers from the area in a written complaint to the Chief Minister’s (Incharge PDD) Grievance Cell, have alleged that DGM (RGGVY) K D Choudhary entrusted with the task of electrification has submitted a false report to the Government claiming that entire village has been covered but the fact is that hardly a small area comprising of a hamlet of 25 families, has been covered while the entire village was yet to be covered and left out.
They have demanded inquiry into the funds utilized for the purpose in this area and alleged that most of the work is believed to have shown in papers only and the ground realty was something different. Many villages/ hamlets were still without power while the department has shown spent Rs 137.50 crore under RGGVY in the sub-division.
