Samba, Jan 7: District police Samba has seized 32 boxes containing 1140 bottles of illegal liquor from a load carrier at Ghagwal near here, today.
A Police Party of Ghagwal Police Station led by Inspector Anu Sharma SHO Police Station Ghagwal under the supervision of SP Samba, Anil Mangotra and Munish Anand DY SP Headquarters during a naka intercepted a load carrier bearing number JK08C-9226 and found 32 boxes of illegal liquor in it which were being carried from Kathua to Samba. The police seized the liquor and arrested the two smugglers Ajay Kumar, son of Khajan Chand of Kathua and Rakesh Kumar, son of Thoru Ram also of Kathua.
The duo was booked under Section 48 Excise Act and case FIR No 05/ 2014 has been registered against them at P/S Ghagwal against them.
Police said that preliminary investigations reveal that the liquor bottles belong to one Ajeet Kumar a wholesale Wine dealer in Kathua and further investigation is going on.
