Three Killed, Five Injured As Cab Plunges Into Gorge In J&K’s Doda

Jammu, Oct 7: At least three persons were killed and five injured when a cab they were travelling in plunged into a deep gorge in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Police on Saturday said that three persons lost their lives when a vehicle en route from Khellani to Sarhoa Humble met with an accident near Sarhoa Humble and rolled down into a 300-feet deep gorge last night.
Eight people were on board out of which three were killed and five others sustained injuries, said police adding, “The injured individuals have been promptly transported to GMC Doda for medical treatment.”
The deceased were identified as Minay Kumar, Lal Chand, both residents of Sarhoa Humble and Karan Jeet Singh.
The injured namely Sanjay Kumar, Manjeet Singh, Kushal Kumar, Mintu Kumar and Sunahir Lal, all residents of Shrwa and Doda are under treatment and police have registered a case and started the investigation.
Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh, who is also Member Parliament of Kathua-Udhampur-Doda constituency posted on ‘X’ (Tweeter), “spoke to DC #Doda, Vishesh Paul Mahajan. Saddened to learn about a private vehicle road accident at Humbal on Doda-Marmat road. My sincere condolences with the bereaved families.”
“The District Administration, led by Mahajan, has promptly mobilised all agencies including the Red Cross to provide every possible assistance. I am in constant touch,” he posted. (Agencies)
