JAMMU, Oct 7: Yudhvir Sethi, J&K BJP vice president, today asserted that the transformative policies of the Modi Government have been instrumental in bringing relief and succour to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
While interacting with shopkeepers of Gummat Step Association here, the senior BJP leader said the Central Government under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has consistently prioritized the welfare of Jammu and Kashmir people, fostering a new era of development and prosperity in the region. He said that the decision of the Modi Government to increase the cooking gas subsidy up to Rs 300 per 14.2-kg cylinder for economically disadvantaged households enrolled in the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) is expected to have a positive impact on the lives of approximately 9.6 crore households currently covered under the targeted subsidy scheme.
Yudhvir Sethi mentioned that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have been reaping the benefits of Central-sponsored Government schemes. He maintained that more than 9,000 landless people have been provided land under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), further contributing to the Government’s commitment to improving the lives and housing conditions of its citizens. He asserted that the present Government is committed to provide five marlas land under the PMAY scheme to those who have not his own land in Jammu and Kashmir.
Sethi also applauded the decision of J&K Government to withhold Property Tax, recognizing that the people of the Jammu region have faced neglect for over 70 years. He underlined the significant transformation in governance and the administration of Jammu and Kashmir following the abrogation of Article 370, asserting that the Government is now actively aligning its policies with the aspirations and needs of the common masses.
The senior BJP leader emphasized that the policies of Modi Government have not only brought development but have also ushered in a sense of inclusivity and empowerment among the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The region is witnessing rapid progress in various sectors, and its residents are experiencing a brighter future.
