Burglars decamp with 12 tolas gold, Rs 45k cash

JAMMU, Oct 7: Burglars struck at a house in Sarwal area of the District on Friday and decamped with 12 tolas of gold and Rs 45000 in cash.
Unidentified thieves barged into the residence of one Darshan Kumar Sharma of Lane Number 8, House Number 69, Laxmi Nagar, Sarwal, Jammu, around 2 PM on Friday through a small entry to his residence when the latter, his son, and daughter-in-law, were not home, and ran away with gold worth several lakhs and 45000 in cash.
“While I and my son go out for work every day my daughter-in-law always stays at the home since thieves are already on the prowl in Sarwal area. Yesterday, I dropped my daughter-in-law at the residence of my daughter, who lives in Rehari area, for around 2 hours. In this period, thieves found an opportunity to conduct the theft in our residence,” said Darshan Kumar Sharma.
Sub-Inspector Dhanraj Singh, Incharge Police Post, Sarwal, said that police are investigating the case with the help of human and technical intelligence.
