Counting for LAHDC Kargil polls today

KARGIL, Oct 7: Counting for all 26 seats in the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Kargil will be taken up by the Election Authority at 8 am tomorrow at the district headquarters.
As Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) have been used in the elections for first time, trends are expected to pour in around 10 am while counting is expected to be completed in the evening.
“Results for all 26 seats are likely to be declared tomorrow itself unless there is any issue,” the officials said.
Fifth Council for the LAHDC Kargil is expected to be formed within few days after the results.
A total of 85 candidates are in the fray including highest 25 Independents followed by 22 from Congress, 17 each of NC and BJP and four from AAP.
Voting for 26 seats was held on October 4.
