Burglary case solved in Awantipora, accused held

SRINAGAR, Oct 7: The Awantipora Police successfully resolved burglary cases today by apprehending a suspect and retrieving stolen cash from his possession.
According to authorities, they received a written complaint from Irshad Ahmad Mir, the son of Chandrigam Awantipora, and Manzoor Ahmad Kuchay, a resident of Barsoo Awantipora, reporting that unidentified burglars had stolen cash from their CSC Centres located in the villages of Chandrigam and Barsoo.
Subsequently, the police registered cases under FIR numbers 197/2023 and 198/2023, citing relevant sections of the law, at the Awantipora Police Station, initiating an investigation.
During the investigative process, police said, the SHO PS Awantipora, under the supervision of SDPO Awantipora Mumtaz Ali Bhatti, diligently pursued various leads. “This included conducting a detailed inspection of the crime scenes and analyzing CCTV footage.”
Police stated that they were able to apprehend one suspect, identified as Rameez Ahmad Naik, the son of Gh Mohd Naik and a resident of Bhan Kulgam.
Naik, police said, confessed to his involvement in the commission of the crime, leading to the recovery of stolen cash totaling Rupees 150,000 during the subsequent stages of the investigation.
