Upliftment of oppressed classes special focus of Modi: Khatana

JAMMU, Oct 8: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Rajya Sabha, Gulam Ali Khatana today said that Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has special focus to uplift the discriminated against and oppressed sections of the society. He said that many revolutionary steps have been initiated by the PM Modi led Government including political reservation to STs, reservation to economically weaker sections, abrogation of Article 370 and hard blow to dynastic politics.
Addressing a large gathering at Village Dhok Waziran in Nagrota area, MP Gulam Ali Khatana said that all parties exploited Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes for last 70 years and did nothing for their upliftment. He said that some even used family lineage to exploit the innocent masses especially ST community in J&K.
A large number of people also joined BJP on the occasion.
MP Khatana further said that BJP Government has ensured that benefit of welfare schemes reach to the needy and poor and multiple checks have been ensured so that pilferage comes to minimum. He said that special focus is on providing potable drinking water and electricity to every household and in near future this dream will come true.
He said that for landless and poor a policy for 5 Marla plot has been formalized and houses under PMAY are being constructed on these plots. He said that neighbouring country has been trying to disturb peace in the Union Territory but our forces are prepared to defeat their nefarious designs.
Khatana urged the people to keep an eye on anti-social elements especially drug smugglers as drugs are capable of destroying a whole generation.
